Chapter 9

AUTHOR'S POV

It's been three weeks since their marriage. And two weeks to that kiss incident.

Rudra was on cloud nine, that day. He was hyperventilating the whole time in his cabin. He Googled a lot of times,

'What if a girl kisses you'
'What does a kiss on the cheek mean'
'What if a wife kisses you, scratch that your wife kisses you'
'Does kissing in response good'
'Is it common to kiss a girl
And so more.

He was very anxious as to whether what he did was right or wrong because he didn't want Tara to think of him as some pervert.

When he went back home, Tara was behaving normally so he did the same. He looked at how she gives all her attention to the twins and does a lot of work. She doesn't give him much time, which is eating him up. But the most important thing is that she works a lot and this is not liked by Rudra.

Tara on the other hand was feeling really embarrassed after that kiss, but Rudra didn't let her feel so. Tara felt a feeling of warmness with him. She is mostly busy with the twins, she does not do any other work. It isn't like she doesn't want to work but Sarla, Sanya, Ritesh and Rudra have sternly told her to not do any work. Why would she? When her husband earns more than enough for her, not her wording, Sarla said this to her.

Tara and Rudra have become comfortable with each other. The silent Tara now just talks with Rudra a lot when he comes back home. She tells him about what she did and how the twins behaved. She updates him every single little thing like a 5-year-old does when he comes back from school.

Rudra on the other hand, loves to listen to her. However, Rudra felt as if her personality took a 180ยฐ turn, as she completely changed. Rudra could sense something wrong with her, but he shrugged that thought as he saw Tara laughing and talking openly.

The twins are just something else. They both are more than mature according to their age. And they don't even disturb others much. They just love to be with Tara, though when their parents are talking they quietly play sitting aside in order to not disturb them. If they could they would have vanished when their parents talked in order to give them privacy.

They all had their dinner and now they were in their room. The twins were playing with their toys on the bed and Tara was cleaning the room, Rudra was on the couch checking some mail.

"Rudra, can you sit on the bed?" Tara asked softly.

He nodded but didn't get up. Tara stood there waiting for him to get up. But instead, he tapped on the side to tell her to sit.

Tara didn't say anything and sat down looking at him. She was waiting for him to say anything. But he was quietly checking his emails. She was getting impatient but he was not saying anything.

"Rudra.." Tara called him.

"Tara sit a bit away," Rudra said without looking at her. Tara gulped, Why is he being rude? Did she do something wrong? She licked her lips nervously and started thinking about the possibilities for his behaviour.

She shifted away from him.

"More," Rudra said without lifting his gaze.

She felt insulted, she wanted to cry now. The twins stopped playing with toys and looked at their parents. Yuvraj was lying back on the pillow and Yashvi shifted closer to him and kept lying just like him, but her head was tilted a bit. They were watching TV and then their parents in between.

Tara shifted away from him until her body touched the side hand of the couch.

Rudra kept his laptop on the table and bent down, his hand moved forward and he placed Tara's feet on his lap, making her shriek. Tara held the headrest and the sidehand of the couch to balance herself, as now her legs were lying on the couch.

Rudra kept her feet on his lap and pulled the table closer to them.

"Kya kar rahe hain aap Rudra?" Asked Tara with horror. She almost felt her heart pumping out when he pulled her.
(What are you doing Rudra?)

Rudra didn't say anything, and he started massaging her feet slowly with one hand, with the other he kept on checking the mail.

"Rudra, why are you..." Tara tried to say and pull her feet out of his grip but he tightened his hold and pulled her feet towards him, making her half of the legs lay on his lap.

"My god! What are you doing!" Tara almost yelled due to the sudden pull. Why is he giving her shocks?

"Tara, let me do what I am doing. Ma told me, you are having pain in your feet and legs. So now keep quiet." Rudra said sternly looking at her.

Tara gulped and didn't say anything after that.

His hand slowly moved in a circular movement on the flat of her feet. Tara closed her eyes feeling his massage. Rudra continued doing this, and Tara was not even aware of the fact that he was using both hands now.

He had kept his laptop back a long time ago, He was massaging her feet and just looking at her. How tired she looked, he thought.

Though she was not that tired, for Rudra she was. Sighs.

Rudra saw the bed and the kids were sleeping in that position only. He smiled looking at the kids then he looked at Tara, who had her eyes closed.

"Tara," Rudra called her softly.

Tara opened her eyes, her eyes were drowsy and tired.

"Are your feet feeling good?" Asked Rudra, his tone softer than before.

"Ji." Tara nodded. His hands were still massaging her feet.

"Why do you have to do so much work?" Rudra asked softly, his gaze was on her feet. Tara was looking at him, how can he be so good?

"We are going to keep a nanny for the kids," Rudra said moving his fingers to massage her toes now.

"No Rudra, we won't. I can't let someone else take care of our kids." Tara said suddenly.

Rudra smiled looking down only.

"Bacha, aapko kisne kaha ki koi aur rakhega dhyan bachon ka? You will be with them all the time. Maa will be with them if you are not. Keeping a nanny will help to lessen your work. Tara aap pura din unke sath rehti hain, lekin aap khud ko exhaust kar deti hain. Do bachon ko lekar ghoomna aasan nahi hai. Aur aapke bache aapki nazron ke aagey he rahenge. Bas aapki madad karne ke liye ek dusra insan rahega aapke sath." Rudra explained to her softly.

Tara was looking at him the whole time. Her eyes flickered between his eyes and lips. The way his eyes were so soft when he explained it, the way his lips moved with every word. She was left in awe.

"Aap samjh rahin hain?" Rudra asked her softly. (You are understanding?)

Tara blinked her eyes and nodded. Tara pulled her legs back and mumbled a Thank you to him. He replied with a nod.

Rudra got up and went to the bathroom.

Tara took the kids to their nursery and made them lie there correctly. She turned on the baby camera, and with a peck on their foreheads, she left for her room.

Tara saw Rudra sitting on the bed and using his phone. Tara went to the closet to change her clothes. She came out after some time.

" I'll clean the bed for us. Just wait two minutes." Tara said hurriedly walking to the bed. She started taking the pillows to keep on the couch.

But she got clashed with Rudra.

"Tara, I already made the bed," Rudra said looking at her, who was blinking her eyes nervously.

"Oh, I didn't see it. Thank you." Tara said and moved to keep the pillows on the bed.

"Thank you, Tara," Rudra said walking to his side.

"For what?" She asked looking at him settling on the bed.

"For taking care of our kids, our parents," Rudra said pulling the quilt to his waist.

"They are ours, Rudra. You don't have to say thank you for it. I don't do..." She got cut off by him.

"Similarly, this bed is ours. So you didn't have to say thank you to me." Rudra said looking at her. His gaze pinned her down.

Tara looked at him, with adoration. Won't she fall in love with me?

"Sorry." Tara said and settled on the bed.

Rudra didn't say anything and lay down.

They both were facing each other, but Rudra had his eyes closed, whereas Tara was staring at him.

"Tara, puch lijiye kya puchna hai lekin aise mat ghuriye." Rudra said opening his eyes.
(Tara ask what you want to, but don't stare at me.)

Tara felt embarrassed and all the blood rushed to her face.

"Why were you talking with me rudely before?" She asked looking into his eyes.

"Kyunki aap apna dhayan nahi rakhti hain. Aapse shadi bachon ke liye kari thi humne, par iska matlab yeh nahi tha ki aapko hum is ghar mai unki caretaker bana kar layein hain. Laye toh aapko hum apni biwi bana kr he the, bs itna kaha tha ki pyar ki guarantee nahi de sakte. Aap toh pata nahi kya samjh bethi humari baton ko. Itna kaam kar rahin hai aap apni tabiyat ka dhyan bilkul nahi deti hain aap. Dekh rahe hain hum, kaise 2 minute mai khana kha leti hain aap. Ye koi tarika nahi hai Tara."

(Because you don't take care of yourself. I married you not because I wanted a nanny for my kids. I just said that I don't know if I will be able to love you or not, but you took it in the wrong way. You do so much work that your health is deteriorating now. This is not a way to make things work.)

He took a pause and continued.

"Bache aap he ke hain. Kahin nai jayege vo, lekin jis tarah aap kar rahin hai aap zarur hospital chali jayengi." Rudra said looking at her face.
(The kids are your only, they wont go anywhere but the way you are behaving na , you will for sure be admitted to the hospital.)

Tara knew he was saying right, and she had exhausted herself entirely in the past 3 weeks. She is trying to hold this happiness, and she is being selfish. She is ignoring her health. She couldn't meet his gaze so she kept her eyes down.

"I am sorry," Tara said looking down.

"Aapki sorry se hume kuch nahi milega. You know this, that you have even lost weight in these 3 weeks, you sleep less at night. You don't even rest in the day. You don't even eat food properly. you eat as fast as the speed of light." Rudra said in a single breath. He was trying his best to not lash at her.

"I am really sorry," Tara said with tear-filled eyes.

"What will I do with your sorry Tara," Rudra said and this time his voice went a bit high, he closed his eyes and turned his back to her.

Tara looked up to see his back facing her.

"Are you angry with me?" Tara asked, her lips almost shivering as she tried to not cry.

"Just sleep, Tara," Rudra said sternly making a tear roll down her cheek.

Rudra was thinking why she is behaving like this? Sometimes her behaviour makes him wonder if she had a past or something. Though he wants to know, he won't ask her until she tells him herself. He is watching her behaviour and he is really angry at her for behaving so recklessly with her health.

He felt two arms wrapped around his torso.

"I will take care of myself, I promise. But don't be sad with me." Tara said with a sniff.

Rudra felt wetness on his back. He removed her hands from his torso and turned to look at her. Her eyes were filled with tears.

The reason for these tears was not his scoldings, but the fear of losing him.

Rudra slowly cupped her face and pecked her forehead.

"Don't cry, I am sorry," Rudra said pulling her over his chest.

Tara nodded with a sob.

"Tomorrow there will be 2-3 women coming, you can choose one for the nanny," Rudra said caressing her hair.

"But what if she is bad," Tara asked.

"You have to give it a try at least. And mostly you are with the twins. She will just help you, and you will get time to rest."

"Hmm.." Tara knew she couldn't argue because he was right.

"Rudra," Tara called.

"Hn?"

"I was checking clothes for Yuvraj and Yashvi. Can I buy them?" Tara asked. She doesn't know if he will like it if Tara purchases things for the kids.

"Aap he ke bache hain. Jo Marzi kariye, meri toh kadar karte nahi hai ab." Rudra said with a fake sniff.

Tara giggled at him. And hugged him.

"So jaiye ab." Rudra said softly to her.

"Can I sleep like this?" Tara asked tilting her head to look at him.

"If you are comfortable with it I don't have any problem," Rudra said with a smile.

"Haye," Tara said dramatically and kept her head flat against his chest.

"Sleep, Tara," Rudra said again because he knew she was thinking something.

"Goodnight," Tara said and soon drifted into sleep, leaving awake Rudra behind.

How can he sleep like this bhyi? It is difficult for him to sleep with her over him. He couldn't sleep the whole night.
